Basma Rady

Biography: Basma Rady is the Chief Data Scientist at Beltone Holding. She recently joined Beltone to build the data science function and capability. Prior to joining Beltone, Basma was the Founder and Head of the Data Science and Advanced Analytics Hub at the Central Bank of Egypt. She joined CBE in April 2020 and worked closely with CBE’s Senior Management to establish the data science function. Basma developed the Hub’s vision, mission, strategy, interim operating model, and target operating model, and presented it to CBE’s Board of Directors, successfully launching the hub within 6 months. She recruited and mentored the data science team at CBE that competently leveraged data science for policy making. Before joining CBE, Basma was a manager data scientist at Ernst & Young (EY) in Dubai where she worked with clients across the MENA region to understand their current state of analytics maturity and design organization-wide analytics vision and roadmap of use cases. Basma holds a master’s degree in Operations Research and Information Engineering from Cornell University, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science and Business Administration with a minor in Economics from the American University in Cairo.
