Tutorial Title: Generative AI
Online Via ZOOM | Mar 15, 2023 | 20:00 – 22:00 (UTC+2)
Abstract: This tutorial will overview the basics of generative AI, including text generation and text-to-image algorithms. From there, we'll head to some open-source options available in Egypt to generate texts and images. After the tutorial session, we'll overview some potential applications for this technology. Participants will gain an understanding of generative AI capabilities and limitations, such that they can start to develop applications relevant to their domains of data science and needs in their local communities.
Format: Lecture on the basic background of generative AI models, interactive session with open-source tools, a brainstorming session for how these technologies can be used to solve problems in Egypt.
Pre-requisites: Some knowledge of deep learning or natural language processing would be helpful, but the sites we'll use don't involve much coding or require the theoretical background for participants to get something out of the tutorial.
